Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer, and director. Her work has been recognized by film producers for roles like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards like an Oscar for the film Piano. Her acting career began in Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. Since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. After suffering from the mumps, she lost her hearing to one side of her ear. However, this hasn't stopped her aspirations to become an actor. In her early years, she was a drama student in university and later moved into New York City from Pittsburgh in order to fulfill her dream. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. Hunter relocated in Los Angeles and tried to land movie roles. In Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. In the last three decades Holly Hunter has been on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star along with the Women in Film Lucy Award.
